Juayúa was my last stop in El Salvador. Small beautiful town on the famous Rute de flores. I ate here a delicious Popusa, made of thick, hand-made corn tortilla filled with meat and cheese. In the morning I went with two Australian guys to neighbouring waterfall.
Popusa.
All the area below the waterfalls belonged to hydroelectric plant and was closed with the fence. But the security guys were letting people inside for a swim. The water from the waterfalls was falling into a pools and one of them was big and deep enough for swimming. But the most interesting was the possibility to swim into one of the tunnel. The tunnel was about 40 meters long and it was dam dark. There was a significant current there and only the head was sticking out from the water. One had to remember to turn right on the first turn... Because the tunnel on the left was leading towards... Hydroelectric turbine. Luckily I did not miss my turn.
