Trip to Santa Clara Mirador

Chapi at the view point.
San Pedro de Lagoon is one of the city located close to the lake Lake Atitlan beneath the volcano. Together with Lidka, Chapi and Joner we decided to climb to the view points. It was an easy climb, but the challenge was to avoid the check point where one has to buy entrance ticket to..... this mountain. First of all we were not sure if they have right to charge for this trip, secondly, my Artesanías were on much lower daily budget than I was, so it was crucial point for them.

Our strong group.
We walked up very early and get a chicken bus to the neighboring village. There we managed to find the side road to the mountain since we excepted that there would be the ticket counter at the main road. We found the road which started next to village cemetery from where we started to climb the mountain. It was slow and pleasant walk initially through corn fields, finally thorough kind of jungle. We almost reached the top, when the ticket control officer showed up and told us that we have to pay ridiculous amount of money for entrance. Luckily, my Artesanías friend managed to negotiate discount and we appreciated beautiful view over the valley and the lake.
