Porto Alegre

Karolka.
During the carnival in Brazil I met a very interesting polish girl -Karolka, who was voluntarily working in Porto Alegre. In Porto Alegre there is third generation of Polish migration. Karolka came to Porto Alegre in order to teach them Polish language, Polish customs and traditions. The first day I joined the projection of one of my favourite polish movie - Jasminum.

Karolka is an ethnologist that specialized with the Madagascar´s culture of contacting with ghosts of their kings and she speaks fluently... eight languages... plus she studied a bit three more.

Leaf artist.
It was a great stop over. She already spent few months in Porto Alegre so she introduced me to a street artist that plays on the guitar and on the leaf - next to his leg he has a huge bag of playable leaves. He needed to take a new leaf every song. I also got know the capuera dancers that were jumping through the small ring with knives. Very original folks.

Swans on the lake.
We walked quite a bit in the city and one aftenoon we came across a small lake in the park. On this lake there were plastic white swans. Not thinking too long we jumped on one of them and this was indeed a very cool ride.

It was great to meet a great soulmate on the other part of the world.
